Founder, MoReese Madu
MoReese Madu is an author-screenwriter-filmmaker from Columbia, SC. His work is informed by black history, ancient spiritual wisdom, poetry, and nature. A revolutionary storyteller across multiple mediums, MoReese tells empowering black stories that contribute to decolonizing afro/indigenous minds from Eurocentric ideals.
MoReese found his gift as a writer in his early 20’s and would later go on to found TruthOverTradition.com, an internationally read blog about black history and spirituality, which he edited from 2014-2019. In 2019, he published his first poetry collection, Up From Religion, which detailed his transition from religion to spirituality. A year later, he followed that up with his debut novel, The Perceptionist, which many readers consider a classic.
In 2020, MoReese completed Tressa Smallwood’s script to screen mentorship program, where he learned the craft of screenwriting and his first-ever written screenplay was offered a deal by a TV Network. In 2022, he wrote and produced his first feature film, Differences, which won Best Feature Film and Audience Choice awards at the 2023 Freedom International Film Festival and is now streaming on Tubi. MoReese is currently in development on several projects.
